Hall of Fame Photo Contest

As part of our 100th Anniversary Celebration, we are giving HSWC a mini-face lift! We'll be redecorating the lobbies and want to feature photos of the very animals adopted from us! Want your pet to be considered for our brand new Hall of Fame? Just make a $10 donation and submit a high-quality photo of your pet to put them in the running for this special opportunity! A panel of 3 judges (all photographers themselves!) will vote on the submissions and choose 3 winners.

How To Enter:

1. Click "Purchase" to make a minimum $10 donation for your entry. (If you'd like to enter more than one photo into the running, it is $10 per photo entry.)
2. Complete the required fields.
3. Submit your entry and keep an eye on your inbox for a confirmation email.
4. Follow the instructions in the confirmation email to submit a photo of your pet.
5. Entries are due by May 1st.
6. Winners will be notified via phone and email by May 20th, and announced on our Facebook page shortly after!

Contest Rules & Guidelines (Please Read Carefully):

• Photos must be of animals adopted from the Humane Society of Washington County (Hagerstown, MD).
• All breeds and species adopted from HSWC are encouraged to enter.
• Photos may include more than one pet adopted from HSWC.
• You may enter as many photos as you'd like ($10 donation per photo).
• Photos must be high resolution (300 dpi or greater).
• Photos do not need to be taken with a professional camera. Crisp, focused photos taken with smartphones are acceptable as long as they meet the resolution requirements. (Please submit the "Actual" or "Full Size" image so that we receive the highest quality possible!)
• Photos downloaded from Facebook or other social media sites will be lower in quality and should not be submitted.
• Photos that are well-lit and in focus with clean backgrounds are preferred.
• Avoid submitting photos that are dark, blurry, or have messy or distracting backgrounds.
• Photos cannot include humans.
• Photos must be full-color. No heavily filtered, edited or altered photos will be eligible to win.
• Photographs may not be embellished with text or art and must not be copyrighted or watermarked.
• Photographs taken by HSWC will not be eligible to win.
• Photos deemed offensive, indecent or obscene will be removed from the contest.
• All entries must be received by Sunday, May 1st.
• All submitted photos become the property of HSWC to be used at our discretion for any and all marketing purposes without any compensation.
